Ewwww… most of us just cringe at the word. I don’t know why this one has been on my mind a lot lately but I’m having a lot of conversations with other team members about the value of accountability.
As I mentioned in a post a couple of weeks ago, we’re all accountable to someone.
Accountability is a part of life but I also believe it’s a gift of protection. By allowing ourselves to be accountable to the authority we serve under, we place ourselves in their watchcare.
“Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.” Hebrews 13:17
This passage of scripture always stops me in my tracks as a leader. For as much as I expect accountability from my team, I have a huge responsibility to be accountable to God for those I lead them.
How can you be more accountable to God for those you lead?
