A Place to Breathe
For the next 24 hours I will be spending time with 6 amazing ladies who know my world and understand my crazy.
These women (and a handful of others who weren’t able to join us this trip) are a small but dynamic group of women who serve as Executive Pastors (or equivalent title) positions in their churches.
As we sat at the dinner table tonight sharing stories and catching up on life and leadership, I was reminded of the beauty of a place to breathe. I literally felt myself exhale a few times.
Understanding
Concern
Care
Friendship
Grace
Acceptance
I don’t have to be anything, prove anything or lead anything. With this group I just get to be me… raw, honest, flawed, broken me.
Do you have a circle of friends who get you like that? A place where you can breathe and be for a few sacred minutes?
I’m an Executive Pastor myself and I so get this post. I do have at least two friends that I can breathe with unfortunately one moved out of state. But this is a timely post since this Monday I just started a book club on “The Friendships of Women: The Hidden Tradition of the Bible” and am becoming more intentional in seeking out ministry minded women who share the desire for deeper friendships. How did you come to have these friends with the same role?
I feel that way sometimes with another couple who are involved with disaster response and rebuilding with a different organization. Probably a lot like being executive pastors, many people don’t really understand all that goes into disaster response. It is freeing to talk with them and share was going on and not have to go into detailed explanations.

I am a young woman, and I feel the call of pastoral ministry. I would love to glean from the leadership at Crosspoint, but am presently confused and discouraged by the role of women at Crosspoint..why do the women serve as pastors but aren’t allowed to be called pastors? Am I viewing this wrong?
